The real Dr.Strangeglove was, of course, Dick Stuart, the slugging first baseman of the1960 world champion Pirates, who earned his moniker due to his less than stellar defense. This should not obscure the fact that Stuart was a potent hitter who slugged over .500 four times, including two years where he put up an OPS+ of 140. He once said "I want to walk down the street and hear them say, 'Jesus, there goes Dick Stuart'", which about sums up the dreams of every big leaguer. He was a personal favorite, and we honor his memory here.
